In the early days
the collection was situated in the stair well on a few
shelves, as the collection got larger more shelves were
added and then replaced with deeper shelves.
When
the collection reached 300 I ran out of space, all new
glasses were photographed and stored in the loft.
In
2009 our small bedroom became free so I was able to gut
it and build units all around the walls. I now have
space for around 1550.
5
times 80 cm wide Wall units, 2 times 60 cm wide wall
unit all with 10 shelves. Glasses set 3 deep per shelf.
In November 2011 was able to move the
computer out of the room where I keep my glasses. This
has given me space to put up 2 new wall units, 1 full
size and 1half size. My capacity has gone from 1550 to
1800 glasses.
September 2013
My glasses are on the move, to a larger room. I now have space to add 8 more shelving units which will hold an extra 1,650 glasses, this will increase the capacity to 3,400.
The move from room to room has been very time consuming, having to re-site 9 units and move 1,800 glasses has not been easy.
I have now been able to move all the glasses down from the loft and group them by type and brewery.
Old units re-sited
New units in place. All glasses have been brought down from the loft and grouped by type and brewery.
